Lesson Policies
Lessons are held once per week unless alternate arrangements have been made with your teacher. Please note: for children's lessons, a parent or responsible adult must be present in the home during lessons.
Payments
- Payments are processed automatically on or about the first of each month directly to Key Mobile Music and not the instructor.
- Payments may be made by Visa/Mastercard or pre-authorized direct debit.
- Payments are processed at the beginning of the month.
- Alberta statutory holidays are not included in the lesson count.
- There are no refunds on unused or cancelled lessons.
- If you know that you will be away for an extended period (up to four weeks), please call the office before the month so your billing can be adjusted to remove those weeks. The office is 780-569-5010.
- Lessons may be suspended if payment is not received in a timely manner.
Missing a Lesson
- Need to miss a lesson? No problem. Simply let your teacher know at least 48 hours in advance of the lesson day/time and you will not be charged for that lesson.
- Contact your teacher directly if you need to miss a lesson.
- Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 48 hours prior to the scheduled lesson, or the lesson is forfeited and no refund or credits will be provided.
- If the teacher arrives for the lesson and there is no one home -OR- if the instructor logs into the online lesson and the student is not logged in, the teacher will wait 10 minutes and then leave/log off. No credit or make-up will be provided.
- If you know that you will be away for an extended period (up to four weeks), please call the office the month prior to being away so your billing can be adjusted (780-569-5010).
- If a teacher must miss a lesson, a credit will be provided and used towards the next month's lessons.

Make-up Lessons
- To be eligible for a make-up lesson, the lesson cancellation must be made at least 48 hours prior to the lesson day/time.
- Providing make-up lessons is at the discretion of the teacher.
- Giving maximum possible notice of an impending absence may increase the chances of the instructor agreeing to give a make-up lesson.
Fees
- One-Time Registration Fee $15 per student (payable at registration)
- Yearly Administration Fee $10 per student (payable in September)
In-Home Lesson Environment
- The lesson area in your home needs to be in a quiet space with few interruptions.
- Please turn off the TV, radio, electronic games, etc.
- If your pets are disruptive, they should be removed from the lesson area.
- For in-home lessons, the teacher may require access to a table and chairs for the theory part of the lesson. This needs to be in a quiet area with few interruptions.
- A parent or responsible adult must be present in the home during lessons.
Performances
- Recitals are held three times each year in auditoriums in St. Albert & Edmonton, seniors' residences, and online.
- Recitals are free of charge for students and for guests.
- Participating in recitals is optional.
Terminating Lessons
- Lessons may be discontinued or postponed by the student at any time, with no penalties, provided that the office is notified in writing at least 15 days prior to your last lesson. Payment for lessons is required during those 15 days and no refunds or make-ups will be granted for any lessons not attended by the student. This includes students who need to take a break from lessons for any length of time that is over four weeks.
- We reserve the right to withdraw a student from lessons based on poor attitude, disruptive behaviour, or difficult parents.
By registering for lessons with Key Mobile Music, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to follow our studio policies. Your registration signifies your commitment to adhering to all policies outlined by the studio.
